BTC at ATHs SOL <10% off ATHs ETH at the same price it’s been all year, still 60+% off ATHs I still hold ETH but it’s for spiritual reasons not financial ones

Fundamentals give two f’s about what crypto twitter thinks. The weighing machine takes time but once it does, it recalibrates quickly.

Turns out ETH was the stable coin all along? I’ve wondered in the past if this could happen. Given the economic layers on top of it, could activity be self-modulated enough to be somewhat consistent over time? Could there be so much else going on on top of it that ETH’s stability is a net benefit? Not sure it’ll play out like this, I just like the idea of an organic, emergent stablecoin.

Hot take: ETH is maybe the highest risk/reward bet right now. If the scaling roadmap pans out and we get billions of TPS interoperable and secured by ETH with arbitrary VMs, then that basically obsoletes everything else. If it doesn't, then we continue down the path of varieties of competing chains.

Absolutely nothing can substitute for BTC's role, Ethereum has no such plot armour. Everything about ETH is clunky, why bother. It is not a world computer, and it ain't digital gold. That said it will probably pump eventually, but the BTC/ETH looks so atrocious, you might be better off holding BTC.

The case for it right now is that it’s at a low point. Typically assets are good pickups when they’re cheap. But there are different dynamics at play here. It could continue to drop against btc/sol. At a certain point the sellers are all gone and it should rebound. But that could be in a year from now when it’s lost another 50% vs btc/sol. So that wouldn’t be good

A decent cycle strategy is just buy BTC at the lows (2022), hold till Eth/Btc bottoms and starts climbing (not yet), hold Eth till the peak. In that case it could be Eth season soon, but it would be best to wait for confirmation of that first rather than just holding eth the whole time.
