Agreed - once you post something publicly, your instinct is to defend it as every disagreement can feel like an attack. You think anonymous posting might partly be a solution to those worried about this?

It's different from person to person. Some will get affected more then others. I think everyone having his own opinion about something is right, but if you're based.. you stay with your opinion with the ability to look at it through someone elses eyes and reflect on it. Only sticking to your opinion makes you stale..
