The top plane of the first "Automatic Totalisator," designed by George Julius (1913). It was a mechanical computer designed for calculating and displaying bets at horse races. There are more really awesome pictures of it, at this link: https://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/historydisplays/SecondFloor/Totalisators/FirstJulius/FirstJuliusMain.php#tickets
