Claude is incomprehensibly better for certain tasks imo I’ve tried both Claude and ChatGPT I use ChatGPT for tasks I know I don’t need to waste Claude on I have subscriptions to both, but mainly use the API for Claude. I prob pay around 200-300 dollars per month in prompting for my personal stuff alone just fyi

For non-coding as well? Looking for one to help do research on some complex topics and pull parallels say between crypto and computational biology.

For non coding, Claude has been better in thinking through ideas for me, longer the prompt the better. Their prompt generator is also good

I have used both for non coding tasks. (for a highly specific format of writing). I am not very practiced or skilled at prompting. And with ChatGPT, I always feel like I don’t know how to prompt it to get what I’m hoping for. But with Claude, I was able to have a conversation with it about what I was hoping to do. And it kinda took the lead and walked me through giving it the needed info Also, instead of generating an entire piece of writing, it generated it in smaller sections. It asked me for feedback about specific things. And then, based on the revisions to that section, it asked further questions about what to do for the next part. It was like actual collaboration. It honestly was the first time an LLM blew my mind

Update: Went back and forth with ChatGPT and Claude all day synthesizing notes for a book outline. Super happy with the results. There's an intuition and connectedness in claude that's super helpful, but something more organized about Chatgpt. Seems almost like right brain and left brain. cc @july
