fwiw, the constant discourse and obsession with degen, moxie, and memecoins makes me want to use farcaster much less. one casino in the city where gamblers can go is fine. but when the entire city is flooded with mini casinos on every corner, and you can’t walk down the street in your neighborhood without passing one, it becomes unlivable and uninviting. i now strongly believe that all this is net negative for the space.

that's true, I used to feel the same way before, especially with *.fun bonding curve based infinite meme generators, however I realized most of these casinos are short-lived, and who knows what will be the next thing they build after. It's still a knowledge and experience :) And there are still people who build for non-casino users! It's just we're not yet there with that demand

yeah that's a good perspective to have. my concern is that this is a turn off for potential new users because it's been a turn off for me. i guess at the core of my frustration is the realization that maybe we're just building las vegas. but most people dont want to live in las vegas. i was hoping that we would be building a new york. where people can still gamble and be degenerate, but where it's also a rich city with culture that has a lot to offer to everyone, where people aspire to live, and where it's also the global center of finance.
