It strikes me that much of the common relationship frameworks (like attachment theory) actually just sit on top of information theory and I'm not finding much pop psychology that treats it as such.

Insecure attachment stems from misjudged perceptions of the nature of the communication environment: sender, receiver, noise (entropy), and bandwidth.

The (secure) inverse understands the inherent instability of communication and understands that reducing entropy requires active error corrections and recalibration. Deeper, it's learning how and when meta perceptions of the channel changes for each partner.
