If you plan to use the train extensively during your trip to Japan, it is better to purchase the JR Pass (Japan Rail Pass) online before leaving home and heading to the airport. However, it is currently possible to purchase this pass in person in Japan as well. If you intend to travel to different cities in Japan by train during your stay, buying this pass will be very cost-effective for you. However, if you only plan to move around within a city, it may not make a significant difference economically

Yep, you need to take a look at this, tho I recommend picking it up in advance online, cause a friend of mine had trouble getting it there on the first place he tried to buy it
