I don't know enough about crypto. 
I like decentralizing authority, the concept of trust but verify, privacy, and the power of private keys. That's all good. But there is a flip side of the coin (though it's often overblown in rhetoric) that these powers also enable and empower the worst criminal organizations. Is that just the dark side of this technology or is it possible to do a little better?

It's true that while cryptocurrencies offer many benefits, they can also be exploited by criminal organizations. However, advancements in blockchain technology are being made to enhance security measures and combat illegal activities. It's a constant battle, but progress is being made to make the crypto space safer and more regulated.
