Lost Founder

25.02.12 - Lukewarm take: I’m a bit surprised meme coins in this form have lasted this long, it feels unsustainable. It’s pretty clear looking at pump fun numbers that over 80% of people lost money.

Separately and generally, rn sentiments seem really divisive (e.g. Solana v Base, Ethereum leadership v community civil war). Zooming out it’s kind of like if there were wars between which database website builders should use, Postgres vs Cassandra 😂. I get this is because of bags and the notion of where value will be coalesced so makes sense tensions and tribalism are high.

On the personal side, had a dope time onboarding some people who never touched onchain. I chuckled to myself because I sent USDC to show money in their wallet but when they went to do something it didn’t work because I had forgotten they didn’t have ETH for gas, oh crypto UX 😓

The Base wallet since they know of and have an account with Coinbase. Was a very new person so wanted to minimize the net new ideas/names.
