It’s anime recap day today isn’t it? 3 anime that have come out so far today are recap episodes.

I never understood a mid season recap as is, were only 6 episodes in!

I think they're usually due to production delays.  I don't remember the series, but they did a behind the scenes visit to the studio and voice actor interviews rather than recap. I thought that was amazing. I love stuff like that.
