I remember some written material on avoiding wasted work in context of based rollups as you don't have a centralized sequencer and no way to elect one from a set. Can't find it anywhere. Maybe it was written by Vitalik?

love it. we have so many channels for NFTs/shilling/degens/fomo. And that’s fine. But we need channels that are explicitly not for that otherwise there’s no point to channels at all
