Thread (1/3) @jessepollak I'm not a member of the Base or Coinbase channels so I'll cast this here If I were the benevolent dictator of @coinbasewallet for a day, I'd use it as an opportunity to get the team up to speed on EIP-7702 and ensure they fully understand what account abstraction enables. The goal would be to inspire them to build the future of programmable bank accounts First, I'd start by having the entire team watch this Vitalik presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEi4zeNRQZk. Everyone needs to understand what EIP-7702 unlocks for EOAs and what limitations it still has compared to 4337 and smart wallets. I'd tell them that 7702 is set to go live in the next hard fork early next year and they should be ready for it

2/3 Next, I'd assign a team to get up to speed on the latest smart account plugin standards, like ERC 6900 and 7579. If nothing is finalized yet, I'd say to the team that it’s been over a year, and it's time to prioritize working with the community to finalize a standard. If there is already a standard in place, I'd schedule a meeting with projects like Rhinestone, Alchemy, Biconomy, etc., to get up to date Then, I'd explain what plugins are and how they can be used to build features like: passkey secured account, defi "buy pow, pay later" credit, 2FA, DCAing, daily tx limit, exploit detection, nft rentals, etc.

3/3 I'd then share Rhinestone's list of plugin ideas: rhinestone.notion.site/Module-ideas... and have the team come up with their own plugin ideas to make sure they understand the possibilities Finally, I'd remind them that a year ago, everyone was excited about account abstraction and 4337 because of their potential to create self-custodied, programmable bank accounts, and we haven't seen much progress beyond passkeys in Coinbase's smart wallet. This is an opportunity to redefine the future of programmable "accounts" and make a real impact.
