thinking of tokens like casts: roughly as easy to make and roughly similar variance in value if i copypasta @itsbasil's post verbatim, does it have value? maybe to people who didn't see the original. what if 10 more people copypasta it? 100? what about hundreds of people who post "gm"? past some point it becomes a meme which collectively has value, but individually is nearly worthless (will we have collections of tokens that have more value together?) what about a cast with a miniapp inside it that has a game like /poidh? is that like a token with utility? what about ephemeral tokens? most casts have some value for a moment, but become stale fast, does that invalidate their existence? how should we think of tokens that may only have value for hours or days? (i don't want to advocate for high churn/short duration games, but it is interesting to reframe how we look at something.)

When people are upset about crypto casinos, they're actually upset about three things: Extractive high-churn short-duration games. Extractive because the house walks away with $500M+ in profits regardless of the outcome, high churn because almost everyone loses dramatically, short duration because it happens on a timescale of minutes to days. It is the polar opposite of this:

At some point in the future, there won't be a meaningful distinction of what is crypto and what isn't. It's already a blurry line in many places. We are in conflict and disillusionment of an ephemeral transition state, but it's easy to cling to the feeling for longer than the transition itself.

In a way, Mini Apps are bringing back the original dream of "web3", from the origin lore meaning which was a web injected connector that included 3 interfaces: eth, bzz, shh. That's when ethereum.js was renamed to web3.js. Mini Apps bring in 3 interfaces yet again: onchain, identity, social Web3 2.0 🙃

Different kinds of wallet<>dapp connectors: 1. Injecting extensions (MetaMask) 2. Relays (WalletConnect, MWP) 3. Embedded (burner wallets, Privy) 4. IFrame: Originally utilized by Safe (safe-apps-sdk), Farcaster is taking it to the next level with Mini Apps (fka Frames v2).

These are better guiding goals than "a fair society", what is fair? Consider MEV and transaction ordering, there is no such thing as "fair ordering" but we can successfully optimize MEV conditions for these goals.

As a society, I believe we should optimize for two things: 1. Stability: We want an environment where people and ventures can make long-term plans with confidence. 2. Wider allocation of wins: We want "more people get lots of little wins" instead of "fewer people get a rare big win"

remember when the "secret sauce" of Netflix is their advanced content matchmaking algorithm? they even hosted $1M "Netflix Prize" competitions. imagine how annoying it would be if one company knew you so well that it was too bothersome to use anything else? does Netflix even have any sauce anymore? does anyone?
