This is a bad idea. If Twitter was redesigned in 2016 to avoid people getting cancelled (let’s say implemented the balaji’s pseudonymous ideas), I doubt that cancellation would be as weak as it’s today. The scapegoating needs to happen so the mechanism gets revealed.

I think it’s a useful experiment. Users might not “like” things due to fear of public backlash. More precise likes makes for higher fidelity user feedback & data, which improves the feed algo

in general twitter policy is getting worse and worse, with all porn shit, xenophobic hatred and conspiracy theories. Last few days my feed is full of "recommended" interviews about how good elon at twitter and how progressive he is (why the f* is it recommeded to me - idk)
