Humankind needs both fundamental joys and small, fleeting pleasures to keep going. It’s a mistake to underestimate the latter. Especially in today’s crisis-ridden world, where we lack a clear vision of greater, more profound joys, it’s better to stay connected to the small, everyday pleasures. This, too, is a form of continuous fuel keeping us from falling apart or burning out.
