CFTC Chair Calls on U.S. Congress for Regulation of Cryptocurrency and Political Betting

Roestin Behnam, the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), emphasized the need for more active involvement from the U.S. Congress in regulating the cryptocurrency industry and political betting during a meeting of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

He noted that discussions regarding cryptocurrency regulation have reached an impasse, leaving investors vulnerable.

Behnam also highlighted the importance of regulating political betting, labeling it illegal and equating it to gambling.
