Did anyone finish Infinite Jest (and why)? One fifth of the way through and it’s such a slog. I started with high hopes after “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men” but it’s not cutting it. Themes I have explored elsewhere, with narrative that doesn’t really flow for me. What am I missing?

yes but not all the footnotes. at least not yet. it's very high on my list of favorite novels of all time! curious what's not flowing for you!

I finished it in my early 20s one summer when I had nearly infinite time and nothing else going on. Kind of the perfect time for it. Not sure I’d have the patience for it now.
