i moved to the burbs about a week ago now and i feel like the chaotic inner monologue i had before has meaningfully relaxed. maybe seeing hundreds of people per day, 24/7 backfround noise, police sirens, pollution, etc did have an effect on my base level of sanity.

Can heavily relate to this. We took it a step further and moved to the coast

i feel the opposite 😕 moved to a more suburban area from NYC and my soul misses the constant stimulation. also have to sleep with a white noise machine to make up for the sirens and background noise.

There’s a lot of subconscious stress in the city, conditioning a minor leave of survival mode at all times. Glad to hear you’ve recognized the improvement :)

It can really get noisy upon arrival. Did you move close to an industrial area?
