convinced artists lean too much on the side "low supply, scarcity for my collectors" vs "minting to grow my supporter base".

other way to think of it: a big supporter base is what gets *any* supply to become valuable, not the other way around.

It is a delicate balance. I wait until the pent up ask is frustrating then  release to meet half of the demand.

how stylistically experimental most of the famous artists were

they could be doing realist and surrealist work at the same timeframes at times

and assume stagnation is the answer

I guess this pushes against “100 true fans” paradigm. But…is that just a default to account for the difficulty of moving patrons between walled gardens. Is “∞ collectors” the open web standard?
