channels as a core primitive seem less compatible with a more protocol centric, less opinionated farcaster. if cb wallet is a glimpse of the future (many clients across many user flows) channel complexity might not be worth it. revealed preferences tell me i use warp more like a regular feed and less like reddit.

channels allows for better organization—I don’t want to have to sift through someone’s profile to find something (like I often have to on Twitter). I also browse through channels of topics I’m interested in periodically(eg /nouns) Warpcast would be much less useful for Nouns & similar communities w/out channels.

This may true for most but channels have been made to be MORE complicated (memberships) and less interesting to visit (reverse chronological) since I joined and created a few. I am hoping we can get some dev love to channels so that we can make them more worthy of visiting.

I rarely cast in channels now. There’s no net gain to doing so. I don’t see posts from channels I follow typically unless I go to the tab or channel directly. Never check channel notifications. Revealed preference indeed shocking on this one.

Channels add structure, but maybe the best UX is just letting the network shape itself naturally.

I like scrolling my home feed about 80% of the time, but then there are some channels I like to go check out and see what's up. The other time I go to channels is when I am looking for external links to specific community websites. For casting, probably about 50% in a relevant channel to contribute to the lore there, if it doesn't fit a channel I just raw post it to the feed.
