Now begins the back-and-forth with the other person's insurance to get a fair payout, and my search for a new vehicle

Damn that's so shitty man, hope that process can go as smoothly / quickly as possible and that you and whoever else was in the car is alright :/

Thanks Sean! Fortunately I was in the car alone and was simply sore for a few days. That's about the only lucky part of this situation lol
