@anoncast is peak farcaster the second half of this year. a fun crypto-native meme turned into the first consumer app where zk *is* the product — tbh i never thought that would happen.

but let's be honest — what's happening on farcaster with memecoins right now is not good for the ecosystem. rather than bringing in new people under a few shared brands focused on building new things (what farcaster does best), newcomers right now only find themselves in The Churn. this is not who we are, nor is it the best way we builders can bring real value back to ourselves, much less bring value to others.

i'm not a vibes guy, but you gotta admit, these are some of the most classy, iconic branding you can possibly get. simple and timeless.

i stand by it. class matters, as does at least attempting to have some higher goals. all three of these brands try to move beyond the pvp and create something bigger than just a meme. all of them created a community of builders interested in the long-term. 

call me simple, but i think farcaster, the most intelligent public community in crypto, can do memes and coins without losing itself like so many other ecosystems. we don’t have to be like them. we’ve always been better as ourselves.

It’s a carnival of subjective truths, a free-for-all where every lie is valid as long as it sells. Meanwhile, the Democrats, in their infinite arrogance, insisted, No, no, no—you’re only entitled to our reality, the one stamped and approved by exiled blue-check experts and focus groups. 

Republicans? They understand chaos better: “Sure,” they said, “make your own reality. Believe what you want—deep state conspiracies, flat earth, whatever. Just hand us the keys to the car.” And when they inevitably wreck it? They point a crooked finger across the aisle and say, “Well, this is all the Democrats’ fault. If institutions are going to be running financial operations on Ethereum, it makes way more sense for the U.S. Government to have a Strategic Ethereum Reserve to help secure the global financial system that it does to have a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

The biggest problem with creating a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the institutional adoption of Bitcoin is that it is a risk-on asset.

Bitcoin has never shown the ability to run counter to market cycles, and it is much more volatile. If the U.S. Government and institutions adopt Bitcoin as a value backstop, they dramatically increase economic volatility and fragility. 

Instead, we should be improving our financial infrastructure with crypto assets that are not intended to be idle assets, but are active commodities fueling the global financial system. ETH is one such asset.
