Friends with more followers than you’ve had on other platforms… how has it changed your experience? Do you find you’re more confident? Less self critical? More anxious? More or less willing to share ideas?

My time on social media:

2005—2021: hundreds of IRL friends across MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
2021—2024: 1500 followers on a fresh account for crypto twitter
2022—: ~61k followers on Farcaster (about +70% auto-followed, bots, etc.)

Since the beginning I've shared anecdotes and observations I thought were interesting enough to make public, sometimes in the form of handmade memes.

However, since starting a semi-anon account for crypto I've been more publicly critical about things I dislike and want to bring attention to. Crypto and the people using it makes this extremely easy.

I won't deny my padded following has made me more confident, but what means 100x more to me is the quality of people that choose to follow me. Specifically, people I deeply respect.

Given my platform, I do much of the same as before while also trying to amplify "smaller" voices as much as possible. Which is mostly why I complain so much about the recast button being ineffective on Warpcast.
