I spent most of my internet life overthinking it and it wasn't until I was pseudo anonymous and a total noob that I was okay shamelessly asking questions and sharing things about myself.

Same. I grew up very online. And then things changed, and didn't feel anonymous anymore. And people seemed really mean. So I switched to lurking for about 10 years. And felt really left out and lonely, which was silly, because I was the one choosing to lurk, lol

And then I came here, and everyone was nice. And now I enjoy the internet again 🙃  It's nice.

Funny enough I'm slowly shifting more towards a doxxed identity here!

But that's largely because I knew zero people here when I joined and I've slowly befriended some folks in person. I've found a lot common ground here than with the hundreds of acquaintances I've followed on traditional social media 😆
