π Behind the Scenes: How Scroll Enabled Open Source VRF be Deployable on All EVMs A fully open-source Verifiable Random Function (VRF) is now deployable on ALL EVM chains. This tool was made possible through Scroll's backing of the Anyrand team. Take a look of how it all came together π 1οΈβ£ The VRF Challenge VRF = unmanipulatable, secure and provable randomness. Sounds simple, right? Not quite. EVM chains were missing out on a tool like drand, due to the BLS12-381 curve incompatibility. For Scroll, the need for a solution was even greater. As a rollup, Scroll's deterministic nature meant traditional randomness sources weren't viable. drand offered a solution, independent of block hashes. Scroll saw this opportunity and stepped in.

2οΈβ£ Scroll's Vision At Scroll, we believe in building tools that benefit the entire ecosystem. When we spotted the VRF gap, we knew it needed fixing. Our approach? Find the right team and give them the support they need to solve this puzzle. Meet Anyrand and Randamu π€ 3οΈβ£ The Technical Breakthrough The Anyrand and Randamu teams tackled the problem head-on: β’ Implemented a new BLS scheme on the BN254 curve β’ Deployed a fresh drand network β’ Made signature verification a breeze on EVM precompiles Result? hashtag#OSS VRF deployable on ALL EVM chains! 4οΈβ£ From Idea to Reality Scroll's support was the catalyst that turned this idea into reality. We provided the backing needed for the teams to focus on what they do best - solving complex crypto puzzles.
