Crypto people understand that the financial system is broken and we need a systemic change to disrupt the very nature of money. The systems we build in this industry are decentralized, open source, trustless, composable, and wildly disruptive.

My video series is called "How to Hijack Capitalism". It speaks to the same desire. The system is broken. We must take it over and fix it. A libertarian crypto founder and a socialist college kid both want to achieve this outcome (although they'd each do wildly different things if they controlled the economy!)

The thesis of my videos: Everything that happens in the economy is caused by financial data. People feel powerless to control this system, but there are actually three ways people can coordinate their actions to generate financial data which will essentially allow them to seize control of the economic system.

I am a progressive, and these videos speak to a progressive audience. But they also speak to an audience interested in the future. A post-capitalist, post-socialist new thing that we're going to be trying to figure out and build. I hope the capitalists among you will tap in and add your perspectives into the mix.

I love the progressive values of my target audience, but good values aren't enough. To build a new economic system that actually works, we need the wisdom of Farcaster builder types who have a hands-on understanding of money, power, and disruption. Complainers who are not in the arena lack this perspective.

This is not a crypto project. There is no token to farm. The relevance is just that we are taking a big swing at rethinking the incentive structures that underpin the entire financial system. The alpha is in understanding how I believe new kinds of data generation will change behaviors across the economy.

I am driven to create these videos because of the polycrisis. Capitalism provides many great incentives that drive innovation, but it also externalizes social costs, which puts us in incentive traps that can cause systemic failure. Climate change. Tragedy of the commons. Moloch. Many such cases.

So I am not motivated by some kind of hatred for capitalism. Rather, I think I've come up with some extremely clever and novel things we can do to use markets and profit motive to escape from our incentive traps and internalize the social costs that have so far been externalized. Who will join me?

As we bring the world onchain, help people go bankless, solve coordination problems, and destroy the margins of predatory middlemen, we're essentially seizing control of the economic system. Another way to say it is that crypto is hijacking our financial system to make the world work better.
