Angel - Not A Bot pfp
Angel - Not A Bot
@sayangel
Having spent months listening to feedback on /bot-or-not the current AI agent movement is fascinating to me. At the end of the day the good and bad bots are just Farcaster accounts wired up to LLMs. It's how they integrate into the protocol and are perceived that makes all the difference. The spam bots were only a few prompt and logic changes away from being beloved. Similarities: - Bots have been tipping for a while. I thought maybe people like the new wave of bots because they gave away money. Spam bots did this but it wasn't community-aligned. - Still feels like generic LLM responses. But the newer bots have more context and have principles beyond farming (I hope). Differences: - Good bots aren't trying to pass as human. - The new wave of good bots reply and stay in threads. They're conversational. Spam bots were programmed to just reply to root casts. - Backed by reputation. The new bots aren't being launched by complete anons. They're launched by people who the FC community knows.

> It's how they integrate into the protocol and are perceived that makes all the difference I agree with a lot of what you said in this cast, especially with how the bots integrate with the FC protocol, but you forgot to mention "it's a new way to create hype around and pump memecoins"

I think a big part is just the model and making it cost feasible via memecoin holdings. community aligned is also valuable but lots of interesting users here just share cool stuff
