I know the STRK airdrop has its issues, but I do hope that this has finally started the trend of projects airdropping to ETH stakers (in particular, solo/home stakers). There are a few big airdrops coming such as EigenLayer, Etherfi, Puffer and Swell that will airdrop to ETH stakers - hopefully many more join in!

when checking, make sure to individually check all categories. If you got it in one, but checking in the other, it will not show your tokens.

lol the first drop to reward decentralization is a flop to the broader extractive community and this is why we can’t have nice things

I am afraid this trend will create a rich get richer ecosystem in Ethereum. That's my worry and it might be unwarranted but it feels real considering you need 32 ETH to stake at home which is a big barrier now, imagine this barrier when ETH is 5 figures.

Great precedence that others will and should follow. We should want decentralization minded, security minded, and long term minded users receiving these tokens. It’s not a rich get richer, it’s incentive alignment.

EigenLayer has it's EigenPod setup for that already. Although it's sad solo staking ETH is rewarded as many points as depositing LSTs.

I agree and at the same time we shouldn't airdrop to coinbase (CEX) or lido (30%+ market share) stakers... We don't need stakers by default, we need stakers that really make ETH decentralized.

I foresee an issue however Home stakers setting their withdrawal address to an eigenpod won’t be able to claim future drops IF that’s the address captured if instead they grab the address that interacted with Ethereum’s deposit contract, all is well

Would you include Rocket Pool stakers in your hypothetical airdrop as a force for decentralization? We should incentivize solo stakers, but are airdrops, given the APR difference between solo/RPL, enough? I’m afraid only including solo stakers will be too “whale focused”, but including LSTs would be too lose!

Allow me to disagree with something you said on The Daily Gwei. Airdropping ETH stakers & contributors is great. But suggesting most criticism is from airdrop farmers and bots overlooks the many active users left out. The problem IMO: farming the airdrop seems more rewarding than years of regular use.

This is all well and good. But it’s time for a serious conversation on whether airdrops do more harm than good in the long run. What are they actually incentivizing?

If you're chasing after people's reactions to the STRK making a Dune data sheet, sometimes whether you receive an airdrop or not, you can only believe in fate.

Also feeling the developer love 🥰 feels like all the slaving over OSS in the past is starting to come back around 🙏 We should probably switch from rewarding github activity to something like radicle.xyz at some point tho
