forward a photo of the notice to airbnb support immediately so you have documentation to build a case in the event the host tries to do something screwy about you wanting to get out of the rental

lol this is def the right move but i feel like such a narc snitching to daddy chesky without giving them the chance to pay first (overly optimistic naive ignorance ya ya i know) paying bills gets forgotten at times i get it — shutoff notice means it’s probably not one month tho😅🥲

I've dealt with bad Airbnb hosts enough times now that I don't even take chances. If I have to use one, I do a video tour of every angle and surface of the house on first entry. My spouse rented one once and the host tried to claim he damaged furniture by marking one of the chairs with like a black marker or something and that we needed to pay for a full replacement of the furniture. He happened to record his initial entry in the Airbnb, and we were lucky enough that one of the angles of the video caught the chair, with the mark. Airbnb closed the case, but didn't kick off the host for blatant fraud.
