What are the biggest challenges you are facing currently? Which have you solved? (technical and non technical) /devfc

Balancing time between everything I want to build and figuring out which one has the potential to generate the proper revenue. Not solved 😃

what do you want to build? lets see if we can figure out revenue streams (also depends on what you define as proper revenue in terms of what ever currency)

I originally wanted to build dev tools or something related to data / analytics and OSS. But generating revenue from these types of projects seems like it could take a long time. Also after watching for a couple of years what others are building and what works, I now think it’s way harder to build something profitable in crypto that isn’t tied to payments. Even when people start with non-financial projects, they often end up pivoting to financial one. Like with the TG bot I built and started charging for, most activity comes from users interested in tokens or financial/degen side of FC. That’s why I also started building frame v2 - to explore more on the financial side of web3 since that’s where most of the demand seems to be. But I’d still like to combine it with social features. The next thing I’m thinking about building - adding when someone you follow launches something, letting you take action (swap or mint) directly on Farcaster while I can earn a commission from the transactions.

In crypto 3 things work -> selling infra to everyone trying to make it -> taking transaction fees -> selling number go up so selling infra has a dev tools approach to it. I can see a hosted data/analytics offering though the question becomes wether or not that "just" becomes a ingest into existing systems first. E.g. Frame V2 webhook endpoint managed + analytics into posthog/prometheus/datadog etc So people buy that hosted endpoint with a nice frontend to send notifications to all their subscribers and get metrics as team on pro plan in their analytics system and if no pro plan then basic paid plan shows stats in your dashboard though that all depends on the size of the ecosystem right? farcaster has ~200-300 frame devs in the Frame V2 groupchats etc. Though as that grows the one being there wins. currently /neynar is your infra player. Others left the chat (PInata, Airstack) If you identify like the frame v2 + trading bot fee taking models then distribution matters. Frontends need users
