I’ve had two people reach out wanting to build a mini app. Doesn’t seem like it’s the most important thing for us to work re: developer legos.

mini apps feel like the obvious next step if you want to work on developer legos. other lego-ish primitives that still need work are opening up DCs and decentralizing SIWF (let me know if i am missing something) i won't lie, i've never used a mini app on telegram and i'm a DAU, but i think they have real potential in social feeds adding support for mini apps along with improved accessibility for them (e.g. pinning an app/frame on your home screen) could help apps contribute to warpcast/farcaster client user retention. an obvious use case for me would be to turn stories into a mini app and if people can install stories on their home screen with a dynamic icon i could show an alert if they have unseen stories - completing the retention loop for my app and giving users another reason to check warpcast

I saw @betashop.eth want mini apps where the channels are right now on the home feed This could easily be a way for him to check his friends stories right there Or by seeing the frame anywhere and then being able to check all stories + upload vs simply viewing the current users one in a frame that takes significantly longer to load the next story then a mini app

i like that idea and i think it would be more useful than the current channels view but there is also an argument to be made that it further complicates the warpcast ui (this argument can be made against cast actions and mini apps as a whole too imo)

True. The way of how you manage that top bar then becomes a UX challenge to nail which will also impact how well the adoption would be Imo just try deep links and sharing frames all time to get to the app will be a good test if users return to these mini apps

Mini app deep links on their own wouldn’t do a good job of answering the question of whether there is demand for mini apps imo (although I agree that this functionality should exist) If warpcast goes down this route they should give developers the tools to really add value, not just tag onto frames

Well doesn’t explore provide the state of not just adding onto frames?

Maybe, but I don’t see explore driving retention tbh Feels like the App Store - how frequently do you open the App Store app?
