taking a (very) short break from dev land to hop into animation land i always storyboard my animations so i can plan all of the movement vectors for each section - this helps the animation feel tighter and more cohesive i then start building the animation from the end backwards as i find it easier to start from all of the components’ final resting places /uno custom loading video coming soon ✨

Fun! Mad respect for the process! You planning on using something like Lottie for drop in assets or using an animation library in code?

i'm animating in after effects! i was originally thinking of exporting it in json with bodymovin (lottie) but then we realized the loading stage we're creating this for is *before* the app code has loaded so it's actually best to export it as a compressed mp4 :)

ooooh this is very cool, thank you! this animation has to be an mp4 since it's for the loading state before the app code itself has loaded, but definitely going to dive deeper into this to see if we can use it for some in-app animations!

I’ve been using Lottie for 5 years πŸ’… isn’t appropriate for the specific place we need this animation to load as I don’t want to introduce more rendering resources. Performance is key at this stage - don’t want to have to load JavaScript first for the Lottie animation to run
