“If I’m young, hot, and/or rich, why would I spend time in a metaverse where everyone else can be that more easily?” - a friend of mine, on why she’s bearish on the metaverse - Would love to hear people’s thoughts on this. She was particularly referring to Meta and VR (not AR)

Could say the same about twitter, right? The young/hot DONT spend time on it. Some of the rich and some of the smart, do

Lol like I mean majority of the world isn’t hot and/or rich. Most VR users are gamers and young Also NFTs proved that you can flex 6 fig digital assets (jpegs) Really a minority case in this specific context

Because none of those things are zero sum in meatverse or metaverse, but is exponentially decaying in the meatverse for at least two of those factors. Equalizing out the other properties, the metaverse makes merit the social currency.

She’s not wrong in that the metaverse is the great equalizer. I think that her point of everyone wanting those “qualities” is exactly the bullish case for the metaverse. Right observation, wrong conclusion.
