One of my favourite things to do for my partner is make reservations at nice restaurants and pay ahead for their solo dining experience when we are traveling separately ☺️

Since I book nice places for my partner there’s usually two scenarios:
1. You pay upfront for the full dinner (tasting course/wine pairing) during the time of the reservation 
2. You pay a deposit for the reservation and you ask them to charge the card used for the deposit at the end of the meal

do most places let you pay ahead of time?
