the question imho is no longer saving in this economy, but the future of the economy in an imminent automation future. as much as the future might indeed appear bleak for most, the opportunities around the corners might expand the pie and make it bigger than ever for everyone. (Farcaster is one of such things…)

boomers got to have a house, a car, annual vacation, and one partner got to stay home, and in USA today a huge amount of people working 3 jobs are a paycheck away from homelessness while healthcare in america is just cruelty at scale + “home ownership” is out of reach for p much everyone - viva la revolution

Its always been this way... People who are making the 80k or lower a year dont have the same opportunity to save as someone making 300k +. Also the quality of life differs extremely leading to mental/physical issues... I agree though, a decent salary during these times is essential!
