One really beautiful thing about European countries is the unbelievable number of opulent palaces and châteaux that are open to the public. Main halls are usually accessible for a reasonable fee or for free especially in Germany, France and Italy.

1. This was a post about a romantic union. It's also about the enduring charm of what is considered today an 'architectural heritage' and used to be centuries ago just a 'home'. Yes, home to a wealthy family, but the main point is that beauty persists and the aesthetic choices people made centuries ago are just as magnificent today.
