We need a new America to gather people who have that adventurous spirit. Mars? Can you imagine the culture that would derive from the people crazy enough to make the trip to Mars? I hope I’m alive to see it.

Your country and mine (New Zealand) was essentially made of those very type of people. Leaving family to cross an ocean (literally other side of world) is the equiv. Of going to mars today - in fact I’d say it was braver as they had more unknowns.
