I read this earlier today, have boxed/wrestled/MMA/BJJ/combatives/etc all my life, and am pretty ambivalent about your reasoning. I'm a huge advocate for people feeling confident in their ability to utilize their body, but framing it as protection for yourself and others feels like wishful thinking at best...

giving them whatever they want is basically the only thing you can do - knives, firearms, brass knuckles, etc are almost always going to win (and probably leave you dying on the ground) if you start that fight. 💯. & ‘the world we live in is dangerous now’ when he seems to be referring to some states in the USA (not the world). Creating a sense of fear in your kids (or anyone) about the world at large is a really bad idea IMO. Basic defence sure, women self defence isnt a new idea marc, but more…as you say- run away!
