Sales tip #1 sell on value not on price. I know clients that will leave an IT company for a couple points on margin and immediately come back to the original company. Why? The value. Time wasted is money lost. Instead of focusing on getting new clients for your premium service, you spend more time on triage.

I always tell my sales people: “You don’t find gold without putting holes in your jeans.” Prospecting is all about the work. Sommelier here: class#1 Step 1: What is the fruit in the glass? Apple, pear ? Lemon lime ? BlackBerry, currant ? Step 2 : what is the condition of the fruit ? is it sour or sweet. Sharp or round ? For example: is it a tart green apple in late winter or a yellowed apple on the ground that has been baked by the sun.
