Thanks Steve! It's called datamoshing :) but this was made before there were apps for it and stuff, I used ffmpeg and old version of avidemux.

I remember pixelsorting and other techniques being popular on tumblr around the mid 2010s, but never looked further into how to do them.

Might look into playing with them, looks like a lot of fun, while also getting a better understanding of how binary image data works.
