CT is good at Ponzis, but it rarely discusses how Twitter itself is a Ponzi. The faster you join this status pyramid scheme, the better off you get. When you reach 40k followers, you can tweet 'gm' and still get 172 likes. Farcaster has some of these mechanics but tries to create an alternative path with channels.

The value of followers seem to vary a lot though. Seen examples where some have pointed out that mainstream influencers with 1M+ followers can get less engagement on subjects than people with only 10k followers but greater perceived expertise on the subject

Agree, it def depends on the subject. Plus many 1M+ influencers have a lot of paid followers :)
