Can we talk about the Xbox console naming system? I don't think it gets enough flak for being the stupidest naming convention I've heard of. It's just so stupid that I want to meet with everyone involved so I can better understand how this level of stupidity was achieved. It has to be one of corporate America's crowning achievement in stupidity and that's saying something because that bar is high in the sky. After Xbox360 was when they started using dice rolls to name the console. It has to be some sort of RNG. The human mind cannot conceive of such stupidity surely. There is an artificial random number generator involved at some point or at several points. Anyway, Xbox consoles have stupid names.

There are so many examples of completely incomprehensible naming conventions for products, but yeah, XBOX is up there with the worst.

Itโ€™s the fact that itโ€™s so consumer facing and so high up in the product hierarchy (itโ€™s not just a game, itโ€™s the fcking console, lasts years) that pushes it into the top spot for me. How does no one in the decision tree stop and say, โ€œhey guys, this sounds dumb as fck, letโ€™s name it literally anything else. Weโ€™ve got 26 letters of the alphabet to choose from if we want to keep the letter theme going.โ€
