Unpopular opinion:

SMR startups, if successful, will be 1,000x more impactful to society than fusion startups

Energy abundance is constrained by wires, not generation

The majority of energy costs - and bottlenecks - are due to transmission and distribution infrastructure constraints, NOT generation

SMRs represent at 10x improvement in distributed energy, especially if we can figure out how to make them smaller / cheaper 

Fusion just addresses generation, and is still constrained by WIRES
