This weekend, I’m embarking on a hacking project using a Raspberry Pi. I finally managed to get my hands on a HiFi DAC Hat, and I’m excited to create an interface for the jukebox. This interface will enable us to send lossless music to the audio system through PlexAmp or AirPlay 2. If you haven’t had the chance to try out a Raspberry Pi yet, they are incredibly powerful microcomputers that can accomplish a wide range of tasks.

Restoration has finally been completed on this 1961 Seeburg DS160. Works and sounds amazing. This specific unit holds a total of 80, 7” 45rpm double sided singles. Some of the included records contain music from Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Elvis Presley, and a lot more from the era. Took some convincing but the wife agreed to let me keep it downstairs in the dining room.

I included a framed photo of my late aunt Bet at last night’s ofrenda at “Dia de los Deftones”. An ofrenda (Spanish: "offering") is the offering placed in a home altar during the annual and traditionally Mexican Día de los Muertos celebration. An ofrenda, which may be quite large and elaborate, is usually created by the family members of a person who has died and is intended to welcome the deceased to the altar setting.
