We got a shoutout by the official Tezos community managers, Tezos Commons this week for Tezcon. Can't wait! Like last year, we have a lot of flying in from all over the country just to make the event. June 28th-29th at Kenyon Hall, West Seattle. 😁 Full article here: https://x.com/TezosCommons/status/1902040958679838878

As of this week, we're starting to deprecate teia.cafe in order to prep for the new site about to be launched in the summer. Most of the site will still be running but you may that some of the wallet-related features may have stopped working. How long has it been? 3 years, maybe? We experimented with a lot of different ideas and got pretty far, considering, but it was time to scale it up - especially for #Tezcon! (June 28th.) So the new site will be a seamless integration of some of the more interesting ideas we came up with in a more focused way. Some of them includes:

Just got word that Tezcon will be getting official sponsorship from the official Tezos folks - we're legit now! 🤣 I can't disclose the details yet but it's enough to cover expenses and pay for everything, so we are stoked. It's going to be a pretty great event! June 28-29th, Kenyon Hall, Seattle.

Been looking around for a place that might be interested in my music style, but haven't found it yet, tbh. So it's looking like Tezcon itself is going to be my big "debut" for Seattle. Sometimes, if you want it done, you just gotta do it yourself. 💪 June 28th - 29th in Kenyon Hall 😉

But back then, AI was not "market ready". It would say "politically incorrect" things all the time, go into "inappropriate" subjects most people don't want to hear (you know, sex, taboo subjects, violence, illegal stuff - it was trained on the internet, after all), and being a robot, it did not care about your feelings and would just blurt out whatever it thought was the right "solution" for you. https://teia.art/objkt/865998 Anyone remember "Tay" - Microsoft's AI project back then?

Remember when crypto people used to write "whitepapers" and you weren't taken seriously unless you at least came up with a half-assed version of it to show that you actually thought things through? What happened to that? 🤣

I also dedicated my recording of the week to the theme "abundance". It's something I think about a lot and it's something that shows up in my works all the time. If you're a fan of my "cloud" works, you might like this one - it's very much my minimalist-ambient piano style that I'm known for. https://teia.art/objkt/865729

I hope you all have a sense of humor because these next few years are gonna be rough without one. Sleepy Joe vs Crazy Orange Man will be hilarious in about 10 years or so, after people make video games about it and turn it into a meme. We're just in the "tragedy" phase right now. 🤣

Warpcast has been making some progress on their app, which now supports wallet integration. Are there any examples of casinos and gambling centers turning into community centers? That's basically what they're hoping will happen, right? Then again. Seattle's history shows that maybe that can actually be done. 😆

Too socialist for tech, too capitalist for art. That's basically my dilemma in a nutshell. 😅 These days nuance isn't something that's appreciated, unfortunately.

The halldoraphone is one of the more interesting ideas to come out of the music instrument space in recent years. But I think it could be taken further. https://substack.com/profile/27495565-ryan-tanaka/note/c-94744336

Some perspective - Steve Blank is still one of my favorite thinkers in the entrepreneur space. He kind of predicted a lot of the stuff going on right now, too - with the whole experiment with giving founders "total control". Yes, all the garbage inside of the piano making those rattling sounds is also a metaphor for how dirty American cities are right now. 🗑️

The best session to come out of yesterday's recording. I crossed the 20 minute mark with this one - I think for this series I'm going to focus on "moving the needle" instead of worrying about what people think - which is something I need to do anyway. As always, my recordings have no edits and are all done in one take. I believe in transparency, both in my creative and tech work. https://teia.art/objkt/865198/copyright Due to copyright reasons, I only upload my works as NFTs on @TeiaCommunity open-source platform now (even previews), where at least I know the rights are protected. If you want to learn more about that side of things, DM me any time. 🙂 -- Description: Some insane music for insane times. This recording uses binaural micing techniques, from the first-person perspective of the player. Best listened to with speakers a keyboard length apart, or if you're feeling adventurous, headphones. (It's similar to ASMR recordings but not "gentle". 🤣)

More recordings today. Still can't believe I get this whole room to myself. Not just one, but *two* grand pianos. 😂

June of this year is when TEIA and teia.cafe makes their big showcase at #Tezcon! The site revamp on our end is coming along nicely. I see a lot of artists complaining about Artificial Intelligence and copyright lately but did you know that NFTs are one of the few places that tech platforms legally aren't allowed to touch? Because the terms of how it can be used hasn't been defined yet, most places just don't touch them, even now. So - this is still the best opportunity for artists to take control of the situation by declaring the terms themselves - and you can now do it through TEIA (teia.art), which is a neutral non-profit owned by the open-source community itself - there are no startup founders or VCs to worry about because the process literally runs on its own. Yeah, I get that crypto/NFTs has a bad rep these days, but the idea of decentralization is still very much sound, and badly needed more than ever. It's now or never, folks!

Sent by a friend. I sold off all my DOGE (the crypto, not the new thing) as soon as Elon started meddling with it. How's Dogecoin doing now? Well, development on the project pretty much stopped - and speculators and MBA types replaced all the devs and folks who were actually putting in work behind the technology itself. I sometimes think had they managed to combine their meme culture with NFTs, DOGE could've been in an entirely new place now. (I sold off all of it as soon as I heard Elon was getting "involved" - I know what that means having seen his previous escapades before.) Poor Kabotsu. She could've been something, you know? 😢

After switching over to DeepSeek for a few weeks, I've noticed that it's a lot more thorough than GPT is - GPT will often omit parts of the code you give it and it "breaks" the original code you give it - making it very frustrating to work with at times. I get that AI stuff is "hard" but working with GPT sometimes feels like working with a lazy-ass American who doesn't give af. No offense, of course. 🤣 Either way, this is free, and it is pretty much better in almost every way. Yeah, DS gets lots of things wrong all the time, too. But as they say, the cover-up is always worse than the mistake itself, more often than not.

Back to doing UI/UX work again - I guess I'm not too bad at it now but boy is it tedious sometimes. Asking the important questions - like, how does this button make you *feel*? I mean, really. This is really important! 🤣
