Last year, I left my role as the CEO of Coinbase Custody to start a new company. Together with an amazing team, we are building Dakota – a modern, crypto-native bank for businesses. Banking has failed to keep up with the speed of the internet. Transactions take days, they offer little to no yield, and banks can deny service without notice.  Even worse, you no longer control your assets once deposited—they become liabilities on the bank's balance sheet. Meaning if things go wrong, your best hope is a bailout.  But that’s about to change.  Dakota offers a fully-owned bank account accessible from anywhere. With Dakota, you can:
1. Send and receive USD globally 2. Deposits backed by U.S. Treasuries 3. Generate yield automatically 4. Get bank-grade security 5. Manage your crypto: stake, swap, or lend–all from one platform Dakota will be open to everyone soon. For now, request access at dakota.xyz and stay updated as we bring Dakota to the world.

GTM is rarely about strategy, there’s only 4-5 viable options for founders. It’s more about execution—most often what’s needed is a 3x in effort. If that doesn’t work, it’s likely a PMF issue, instead of a market issue.

Every time I hear about new government incentives to attract people, I think of @balajis.eth and the network state. Take Portugal’s Golden Visa program: residency for those who invest in real estate or business. Incentives shape outcomes.

Me: What’s the term for someone who goes from being a regulator to working in the industry they used to regulate? ChatGPT: crony… Me: Awh, yes… that’s the one.

Reminder: Your banks is a counterparty. Your deposits are liabilities on their balance sheet. Stanford’s model predicting solvency runs shows that the SVB collapse could be the canary in the coal mine.

Brand channels > brand accounts Great to see brands create channels on farcaster over company accounts. Feels like a better way to foster a “community” and get 2-way comms. Temporary collab / event-based channels seem like a next logical step.
