The division had previously been responsible for high-profile actions against platforms such as Tornado Cash and Garantex. The dissolution marks a shift in focus—from targeting exchanges to prosecuting individual wrongdoers.
This move is part of Trump’s broader stance on relaxing cryptocurrency regulations, which has also included the dismissal of major lawsuits against Coinbase and Kraken.
