It should not be possible to ignore an error because that could leave the system or a computation in an undefined (or unexpected) state. This is a major source of errors.

It shouldn't be ignored. As a minor bug can crash the whole system. Few days back I left a tiny bug in the production as it was complicated to resolve and put it into production without resolving it. Later it causes the system to crash
