imo since moxie started, farcaster hasn't been the same for me. some people believe they are doing you a favor by just replying you or interacting with your account. some see your comment and they already feel you're interacting for moxie. the ease at which you get flagged as a spammer for simply commenting under people's post. the shift in what is described as "quality content". i am not gonna lie, it all just sucks. even as centralized as the other app is, you have to do insane spamming to be shadow-banned. some friends i introduced to this app have been speaking to the void ever since and never get any single interaction coz they lack power badge and the algorithm messes them up. this is not what decentralized social media is to me and sorry not sorry, this route isn't the best way to onboard the next million normies. censorship isn't it. but goodluck to everyone

This is true and what I hate is "quality content" who ate we to judge what is quality? I enjoy x due to the endless shitposting and all sort of entertainment not cos I want to read a book or some needy stuff from devs. I keep saying most crypto devs and founders hate their users and this is why they will keep failing.

I am with you Ruggy fam. Even casual gm are deemed as spam is kinda sad. now whenever I respond to anyone not following me there is always this nagging fear it will just go straight into void.

moxie has made people become less human. Imagine having a cast strategy to maximize your moxie gains on a social app? That shit is a L bozo move to me. Its the larger influence that is doing this and it trickles down. Can we just go back to vibing and talking about our favorite projects/products in web3?

God damn yes! Never had power badge, not really easy for me to interact with people, irl not easier, now there is some complexity added by potential gain, spam and shadow banning. Just like to vibe, try to share stuff and everything, not enjoying to dig the complexity of social networking and the new trends just to publish stuff

Ya it’s certainly been a topic of conversation lately. The way I look at it is I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing. I like throwing out a GM cast and replying to everyone, I like replying to memes and art and photos, but I definitely feel what you’re saying it’s terribly unfortunate

To be honest I don’t think it’s about moxie - the Powerbadge is it - if you have it good if not you are invisible. Moxie is just an evolution of Degen/ham/masks whatever farming going away from grinding the people and channels with the most all but actually more spread around the whole farcaster Anyways good take 420 $units

Agree, I got a powerbadge quite early on somehow so was quite lucky. If I had to spend months shouting into a void before I was seen I think I probably would have given up quite early on. Moxie encourages the big accounts to post more but a weird dynamic where people I used to have conversations in the replies with don’t message back anymore because they think everyone is after their engagement.

it just feels centralised. it's like, you should do this this and that and you can't even GM or simply leave a tip. FC has changed a lot, and many times since I joined. I've also been shadowbanned in the past and came out of it by changing completely my behaviour and casts. I was mostly shilling coins because I was new to crypto, and there is even evidence from big accounts, that FC was the right place to feel at home when talking about crypto. But that changed quickly, and the bigger accounts just didn't seem affected at all. Mostly OGs, of course *eye roll* There have been lots of positives too, which I'm happy about, but overall, as you mentione, onboarding the next million normies, they will feel some of the pains we have gone through. I understand it's a challenging situation, and if we want to achieve full decentralisation, everyone's voice should be heard, and not decided by a few people. It's in essence replicating what big companies do and it's not progression at all
