I know this bodes badly for my short term liquidity but I can’t wrap my head around doing a memecoin thing. I only want community coins with real communities producing value outside of speculation.

the thing is that memecoins are actually just about communities and the starting point of that may be extremely weird and unsettling

I don’t consider pvp memecoins communities. I guess you can argue it’s a community built around ripping each other off? There are some that feel a bit more “let’s make money together” but that can quickly change when price goes down and there’s no way to bring it up since the coin has no utility.

honestly this is the first time that i experience that like this (with maxi) I haven’t been part of any other (degen felt an absolutely different game than this, with another kind of community aspect, another kind of energy). and im just feeling how things feel tbh. but I get what you mean for sure

FWIW I don’t consider Degen a memecoin since it’s tied to the early Farcaster community and I consider that a productive community. I’m not familiar with Maxi so can’t comment.

i love thinking of it as a memecoin (and on the grand scheme of things it actually looks like one. and i love the idea of the community figuring out after the fact what it was for and what could be done with it haha) maxi is cool. moxie’s pet. i made my first meme today
